Mark Sloan | TAKEN

Born to parents who didn’t want kids, Mark Sloan grew up in New York and was incredibly independent as a child. He soon found a lasting friendship and family with Derek Shepherd. He followed his friend to college, to medical school, and through residency. Mark specialised in plastic surgery, with a subspecialty in ear, nose and throat. He worked alongside his best friend and his wife, Addison, for years until he betrayed Derek, sleeping with his wife. Not long after the pair of them had left New York, Mark followed, hoping to make a go of things with Addison, but soon realising that wasn’t going to happen. He found a new home in Seattle, making firm friends (with benefits) with Callie Torres. Along the way Mark repaired his friendship with Derek, and found a new love in Lexie Grey.
Falling in love with Lexie Grey was certainly something Mark had never expected to happen. She was everything he was not, and she made him a better person, a good person, even. But sadly, the appearance of his daughter Sloane caused a rift in their relationship, and his attempts to put Sloane first ended in Lexie leaving him. Time passed, and Mark never managed to get over Lexie, she was always invading his thoughts, and eventually he managed to win her back. Yet again, this was not to last – his sexual tryst with Callie Torres had resulted in her pregnancy, and a dismayed Lexie left him once more.
His eldest daughter, Sofia Robbin Sloan Torres, was born extremely prematurely and really it was a miracle she’d survived. It was after this that Mark wised up, and he really began to fight for Lexie. Winning her over once more, for a third and final time, Mark married the love of his life, promising her a lifetime together. Soon, Lexie was pregnant, and Mark was overjoyed to have twin boys. Jacob and James were doted on by the pair, and they couldn’t have been happier as a family. Two years passed, and Lexie was pregnant once more – this time she gave birth to a baby girl, Elizabeth Sloan. Mark is an extremely over protective father, wanting the best for all four of his children, and has always tried to give them the childhood that he never had. He loves his family more than anything, and is extremely happy that he got so lucky.
